Clara P. Tini, 90, formerly of Rose Manor Apartments died Sunday at Craneville Place of Dalton, where she was admitted in April 1999.
Born in New York City on Oct. 24, 1911, daughter of Angelo and Michelina Inperata Pallonari, she attended school there and lived in Woodside, N.Y., for several years.
Mrs. Tini was employed by the former Edge Products Inc. on Long Island for 10 years and moved to Pittsfield in 1941. She worked for the former Pittsfield Novelty Co. on Columbus Avenue and for Chemex of Pittsfield, retiring in 1951.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Sons of Italy Itam Lodge 564 and the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center, where she served as a volunteer. She enjoyed cooking, bowling and dancing.
Her husband, Salvatore "Sam" Tini, whom she married Nov. 24, 1932, died March 12, 1983.
She leaves three daughters, Theresa M. Delusky and Madeline M. Hawboldt, both of Pittsfield, and Christine L. Tini of Stephentown, N.Y.; a sister, Ida Pallonari of Elmhurst, N.Y.; eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.
The funeral will be tomorrow, July 10, at 9 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today, July 9, from 4 to 7. Sons of Italy Itam Lodge 564 of Pittsfield will meet at the funeral home tonight at 6 for a ritual service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Itam Lodge Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
