Norbert H. Jacoby, 91, of 91 Jacoby Ave. died Sunday at Springside of Pittsfield.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 22, 1910, son of Mathias and Rose Kirchner Jacoby, he attended local schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School. He attended Ohio Northern University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta.
He was the owner and operator of Jacoby's Dairy and later co-founder of the Dairy Center of the Berkshires in 1958. He retired in 1973.
Mr. Jacoby attended First Church of Christ, Congregational and was a member and past president of the Optimist Club. He was a former beekeeper and enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables.
His wife, the former Beulah Ressler, whom he married Nov. 8, 1939, died in 1996.
He leaves two daughters, Linda J. Minneci of Lanesboro and Susan J. Montaque of Queensbury, N.Y.; a son, Norbert M. Jacoby of Rochester, N.Y., and a sister, Katherine Spaulding of Pittsfield.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Following cremation, burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the charity of one's choice in Mr. Jacoby's memory. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, is in charge of arrangements.
