Eric J. Taylor

June 23, 2002

Eric J. Taylor, 31, of 16 Exeter Ave. died Sunday morning at home.

Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 21, 1970, son of Michael A. Taylor Sr. and Kathleen Caporale, both of Pittsfield, he attended Pittsfield High School and graduated from Berkshire Community College with honors. He also graduated from Rensselaer (N.Y.) Polytechnic Institute, where he was named to the dean's list.

He served in the Navy from 1987 until 1991.

At the time of his death, Mr. Taylor had been employed as a sales associate for B&G Restaurant Supplies since 1996. He also had worked in a pharmaceutical lab in the Boston area.

He played for the Berkshire Mountaineers' football team from 1992 until 1994, and also played softball. He enjoyed in-line skating, dancing, reading and writing.

Besides his parents, he leaves his stepfather, Ralph Caporale, with whom he resided; a son, Cameron P. Taylor of Dalton; a brother, Michael A. Taylor Jr. of Pittsfeld; two stepsisters, Tina Schettini of Pittsfield and Stephanie Caporale of Dalton; a stepbrother, Chad Caporale of Pittsfield, and his paternal grandmother, Helen Taylor of Pittsfield.

The Burial Service for Eric John Taylor, 31, who died Sunday, June 23, will be celebrated Thursday at 2 at St. Stephen's Church by the Rev. James C. Dannels, rector. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at DERY FUNERAL HOME will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cameron Taylor Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
