Eleanor M. Bryan, 93, of 52 Wahconah Heights died Saturday afternoon at Springside of Pittsfield.
Born in Middlefield on Oct. 14, 1908, daughter of George W. and Mary Agnes Cody Bryan, she attended school there and came to Pittsfield as a young woman.
In 1928, Miss Bryan was employed by the former F.W. Woolworth's store on North Street. She also worked at the former England Brothers department store prior to joining J.J. Newberry's, where she was employed for 12 years. From 1952 to 1962, she worked at Joanne's Bakery. She was last employed by the Wonder Bread Co., retiring in 1973 after 11 years of service.
A communicant of St. Charles' Church, she enjoyed walking and was a Red Sox fan.
She leaves a sister, Mary Ellen Phair of Framingham.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles' Church on Wednesday at a time to be announced. The Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Hinsdale at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Charles' Church or to the Jimmy Fund, both in care DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME.
