A. Frederick Rohlfs Jr., 64, of Monroe, N.J., formerly of Pittsfield, died yesterday at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J.
Born in Lancaster, Pa., on June 12, 1937, son of Albert F. Rohlfs Sr. of Lenox and the late Harriet Johnson Rohlfs, he was raised in Pittsfield and attended Pittsfield High School. He resided in North Brunswick before moving to Monroe three years ago.
Mr. Rohlfs was employed as a consulting actuary for Buck Consultants Inc. in Secaucus, N.J., for 17 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Society of Actuaries and the American Academy of Actuaries.
Besides his father, he leaves his wife, the former Sandra Boldyga; three daughters, Kathy Moore of Freehold, N.J., Sharon Hazy of Pittsburgh and Christine Schubert of New York City; a son, David Rohlfs of Woodbridge, N.J.; two sisters, Judith Rohlfs of Tolland, Conn., and Linda Rohlfs of Vernon, Conn.; three brothers, Robert Rohlfs of Westford, Harry Rohlfs of East Longmeadow and James Rohlfs of Catonsville, Md., and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday from SELOVER FUNERAL HOME, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick, followed by a 10 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Peace Roman Catholic Church, North Brunswick. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a charity of one's choice.
