Frederick D. Butler, 71, formerly of Francis Plaza, died Wednesday at Springside of Pittsfield, where he had lived for the past year.
Born in Pittsfield on May 27, 1930, son of Laura Ethier Butler Odell and the late John W. Butler, he attended Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Butler was employed as a taxicab driver in Pittsfield and Albany, N.Y. He retired in 1993.
Besides his mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves four sisters, Shirley Ashman, Carol Wojtkowski and Julianne Liebenow, all of Pittsfield, and Patricia McAuley of Pittsfield and Spring Hill, Fla.
A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, May 22, at 1:30 at St. Joseph's Cemetery by the Rev. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor of St. Joseph's Church.
