Nathan Suckman

Nathan L. Suckman, 71, of Majesty Circle, Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died Sunday at Delray Hospital in Delray Beach, Fla.
Born in Glens Falls, N.Y., on Oct. 14, 1930, son of Isadore and Sarah Suckman, he graduated from Glens Falls schools. He had resided in Pittsfield from 1968 until 1987.
Mr. Suckman was employed by the Ideal Shoe Co. in Philadelphia at one time and later became the owner and proprietor of Mr. Nathan's Shoes, which had four locations in Pittsfield and North Adams. He retired in 1987 and moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. He later moved to Boynton Beach.
He was a member of the Independent Benevolent Society in Albany, N.Y., and the Moorestown Masonic Lodge 281 in Maple Shade, N.J. He also was a life member of the 210 National Foundation affiliated with the shoe industry.
He leaves his wife, the former Dolores Sacklow; two sons, Scott Suchman of Largo, Fla., and Ira S. Stevens of Tokyo; a brother, Allen Suckman of Glens Falls; a sister, Shirley Simon of Albany, and a granddaughter.
