Julia A. Casella, 88, formerly of Rose Manor Apartments, died Sunday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for seven years.
Born in Huntington on June 25, 1913, daughter of Joseph and Mary Sarocco Casella, she moved to Pittsfield as a child and attended local schools.
Miss Casella was employed as an imprinter for Crane & Co. in Dalton for 28 years, retiring in 1975.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and enjoyed painting, traveling and reading.
She leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters, Rose LaConti, Lillian Astore, Sophie Polidoro, Jennie Liquori and Amelia Pignone, and five brothers, Anthony, Joseph, Andrew, George and Alfred Casella.
The funeral will be Thursday at 1 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, with the Rev. John Ford, CSS, parochial vicar of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday from 4 to 7. Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders in care of the funeral home.
