Virginia Fielding

Virginia B. Fielding, 98, formerly of Morgan Manor, died Sunday morning at Laurel Lake Center in Lee, where she had resided since 1998.
Born in Stockbridge on Feb. 4, 1904, daughter of Harry and Grace Yale Bell, she was a graduate of the former Williams High School. She also graduated from the former House of Mercy School of Nursing.
In the early 1940s, she worked in hospitals and as a private-duty nurse in New Smyrna Beach and Wilbur-by-the-Sea, both in Florida. She returned to the Berkshires in the late 1940s and worked as a private-duty nurse. She moved to Lenox in 1958.
She was a member of Stockbridge Congregational Church.
Her husband, J. Burrell Fielding Sr., died Dec. 9, 1978. He was former president of Lenox Savings Bank.
She leaves a stepdaughter, Carol Winston of Lenox, and two brothers, Louis Bell of Fayetteville, N.Y., and William Bell of Leesburg, Fla.
