Rose M. Ross, 94, formerly of 379 East St., Providence Court Apartments, died yesterday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had resided since June 14, 1990.
Born in Pittsfield on June 22, 1907, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Sica Lupisella, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Ross was employed by the former Textile Store on North Street for 30 years, retiring in 1969.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church and a former member of the Emblem Club of Pittsfield. She enjoyed music, traveling and playing bingo.
Her husband, Samuel Ross, whom she married Jan. 16, 1928, died May 21, 1980.
She leaves a son, Anthony E. Ross of Weekapaug, R.I.; a daughter, Jessie R. Borgo of Pittsfield; a sister, Loretta Ricci of Akron, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ross was predeceased by four sisters, Carmella Ross, Mary Russo, Katherine Fioretti and Jennie Lupisella.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated tomorrow, May 1, at 11:30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., will be Wednesday from 8:30 to 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mount Carmel Church Centennial Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
