Francis Michael "Bud" Legge, 74, of 1331 Southpalm Way, Lake Worth, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday at home. He had resided in Lake Worth for many years. He moved to Florida in the late 1960s.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan 8, 1928, son of John and Mary Leahy Legge, he graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1946 and from St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vt., in 1951.
After graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force and was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1953.
A funeral director, Mr. Legge owned Legge Funeral Home in Lake Worth for many years.
He leaves a daughter, Kathryn Woods of Lake Worth; five sons, Michael D. Legge, Stephen D. Legge, Daniel J. Legge, Thomas S. Legge and James W. Legge, all of Lake Worth; a brother, John "Dick" Legge of Harvest, Ala.; a sister, Florence Sullivan of Cape Canaveral, Fla., and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Francis M. "Bud" Legge will be celebrated tomorrow, May 1, at 11 at Sacred Heart Church, 425 N. M St., Lake Worth, with burial to follow in Pinecrest Cemetery, Lake Worth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to Hospice by-the-Sea, 1531 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486. PREMIER FUNERAL SERVICES, 730 N. Dixie Hwy., Lake Worth, is in charge of arrangements.
