Loretta Marchetti, 86, of 200 Benedict Road died Tuesday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had been admitted March 3, 2000.
Born in Pico, Province of Frosinone, Italy, on Dec. 28, 1915, daughter of John and Maria Carmine Colella, she attended schools in Italy. She emigrated to the United States in 1955.
She was employed by the former Glix Brandt Pajama Factory in Pittsfield from 1955 until 1972, when she went to work for the former Berkshire Coat Factory, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Marchetti was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and traveling.
She leaves her husband, Domenico Marchetti, whom she married March 11, 1937, in Pico, Italy; two sons, Luigi Marchetti of Enfield, Conn., and Anthony Marchetti of Pittsfield; a daughter, Albina Tesoniero of Pittsfield; a sister, Maria Lariglio of Pico; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Friday, April 19, at 9 from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home will be today, Thursday, April 18, from 4 to 7. The Mount Carmel Church Ladies Guild will meet at the funeral home Thursday at 5:30 for a Vigil Service.
