Joan Fisher

Joan Fisher, 70, of Bradford Arms Apartments died Saturday at Optimum Care.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on May 4, 1931, daughter of Albert C. and Marguerite Leitch Gilligan, she moved to Adams at a young age and graduated from the former Adams High School in 1949 and attended the former Bliss Business College in North Adams. She moved to Pittsfield in the early 1950s.
Mrs. Fisher was employed with GE for five years as a secretary in the transformer department and high-voltage lab.
A member of First Church of Christ Congregational, she enjoyed country music, baseball and football.
She leaves a son, Franklin A. Fisher Jr. of Niskayuna, N.Y.; a daughter, Priscilla J. Fisher of Billerica; a brother, Daniel A. Gilligan of Stateline, N.Y.; two grandchildren, and her longtime companion, Everett "Zeb" Dunn.
The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 1 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, by the Rev. Luther Pierce of First Church of Christ Congregational. An interment service will follow in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Adams. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in care of the funeral home.
