Agnes H. Squires

Agnes Hayes Parslow Squires, 90, formerly of First Street, died Wednesday evening at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since March 17, 2000. She had previously resided at Senior Lodge, 320 Onota St. for several years.
Born in North Adams on Sept. 5, 1911, daughter of John and Agnes Daniels Smith, she attended North Adams schools.
Mrs. Squires was employed as a chambermaid for 12 years at the YMCA, and later as a waitress at the former Franco-American Club for 30 years, retiring in 1970.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her family.
Her first husband, Herbert Hayes, died many years ago, and her second husband, Harry W. Parslow Jr., died Dec. 26, 1970.
Her husband, Raymond W. Squires, died Aug. 5, 1990.
She leaves two sons, Robert Hayes of Churchill, Tenn., and George Parslow of Pittsfield; a daughter, Patricia M. Van Antwerp of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Alice Laird of South Deerfield; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and four great-greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Herbert Hayes and James Parslow, and two daughters, Linda Lee Parslow and Joan Hayes Smachetti.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
