Louise C. Brower, 77, of 169 Valentine Road died Wednesday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for more than two years.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 27, 1925, daughter of William and Cora Hamil Stillman, she attended local schools.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed bowling in local leagues and knitting.
Her husband, Lawrence C. Brower, whom she married Feb. 13, 1951, died May 19, 1968.
She leaves two sons, Donald R. Brower and Edwin L. Brower, both of Pittsfield; four daughters, Judith A. Murray of Lake Mary, Fla., Jane M. Durant of Williamstown, Dawn L. Brower of Pitts-field and Laurie J. Sykes of La-Vergne, Tenn.; five grand-children and four great-grand-children.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with the Rev. James C. Dannals, rector, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield will be Friday from 4 to 7. Among survivors are her grandchildren Tiffany Brower, John Brasie, April Brower and Curtis Brower, all of Pittsfield and Adam Sykes of LaVergne, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
