Gladys R. Bartlett

Gladys Ruth Bartlett, 95, formerly of Jolindy Road, died Tuesday at Springside of Pittsfield.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 27, 1906, she was one of 14 children born to John Henry and Harriet Hall Dallmeyer. She was educated in Pittsfield schools, most notably the old one-room schoolhouse in the Osceola section and at the former Pomeroy School. She and her husband resided in the state of Washington for many years and moved to Canaan, N.Y., in the early 1970s.
Mrs. Bartlett was a member of the former Pittsfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning and freezing much of her produce. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting clothing for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the former Pittsfield Baptist Church.
Her husband, Edward R. Bartlett, whom she married July 12, 1927 in Ghent, N.Y., died in 1987.
She leaves a son, Edward C. Bartlett of Richmond; two daughters, Phyllis Richey of Richland, Wash., and Helen Mowery of Kennewick, Wash.; four sisters, Helen Cheyne, Harriet Boyington, Marjory Bove and Phyllis Chapman, all of Pittsfield; two brothers, Clifford Dallmeyer of Lanesboro and Donald Dallmeyer of Camden, N.C.; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be private. Donations may be made to the Community Health Association of Richmond & West Stockbridge in care of the FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
