June Janet Allison, 77, of , formerly of Pittsfield, died March 7 in Reno, Nev.
Born in Reading, Pa., on May 11, 1924, daughter of Leroy and Hannah Ruth, she received her nursing degree from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing.
Mrs. Allison worked in the public health hospital in Norfolk, Va., and at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Roanoke, Va. She also worked in Key West, Puget Sound, Newport, and at Hillcrest Hospital and Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.
After her marriage to Henry Aulus "Chuck" Allison Jr. in 1948, they resided at various locations around the country due to her husband's field service assignments for GE. They moved to Pittsfield in 1956 and, after his retirement in 1986, they moved to Lake Tahoe, Calif., and later to Reno.
Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Sallie Best of Mountain View, Calif., Lee Ann Mulford of Middletown, Calif., Sue Allison Massimiano of Warrenton, Va., and Amy "Mimi" June Allison of Dumfries, Va.; a sister, Joyce Flesher of Timonium, Md.; a brother, William Ruth of Lima, N.Y., and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, William Henry, who died in 1987.
