Edward McCabe

F. Edward McCabe, 81, of North Palm Beach Heights, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died Monday at a hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Born in Pittsfield on July 6, 1920, son of Edward Michael McCabe and Katherine Fitzgerald McCabe, he attended St. Joseph Grammar School and graduated from St. Joseph's High School.
He left Pittsfield in 1941 to join the Marine Corps and served during World War II.
After his military discharge, Mr. McCabe moved to West Palm Beach, where he became a pioneer in the area of alcohol and drug counseling, serving the Palm Beach County area for more than 30 years.
He leaves a son, Edward McCabe of Ventura, Calif., and a brother, Howard A. McCabe of Jupiter, Fla.
A memorial gathering will be held between the hours of 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2002, at QUATTLEBAUM-HOLLEMAN-BURSE FUNERAL HOME, 1201 South Olive Ave., West Palm Beach, Fla.
