Alyce E. Goodrich

Alyce Elizabeth Goodrich, 82, formerly of Curtis Manor, died Monday evening at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She had resided at Providence Care Center of Lenox for a year.
Born in Pittsfield on March 24, 1920, daughter of John C. and Celena Grandshaw Murphy, she was a 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She was employed as a clerk at Sears for 32 1/2 years, retiring in 1985.
A communicant of St. Agnes' Church in Dalton, Mrs. Goodrich also volunteered at St. Mark's Church bingo in Pittsfield and was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She was a former member of the board of directors of the Country Road Mobile Home Park in Hinsdale, and served as secretary of the corporation when it was incorporated on Feb. 29, 1988. She also served as acting treasurer.
Her husband, Weston J. Goodrich, whom she married Oct. 29, 1945, died Jan. 4, 1997.
She leaves a daughter, Patricia M. Jones of Pittsfield, and a sister, Marion Gregory of Granger, Ind. Mrs. Goodrich was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jennifer Ruth Deane, who died in 1981.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 2, at 9 at St. Agnes' Church, Dalton, with the Rev. John A. Koonz, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
