Gladys V. O'Donnell, 85, formerly of Rose Manor, died Sunday at Lexington Health Care Center in Elmhurst, Ill. She moved to Elmhurst three years ago to live with her daughter, Lynn Koscher.
Born in Richmond on April 2, 1916, daughter of John and Mary Gallagher VanBramer, she graduated from Richmond schools.
Mrs. O'Donnell was a homemaker. She was employed as a shipping clerk for the former Eaton Paper Co. for 10 years after raising her family.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and active in the Ralph Froio Senior Center and the Golden Agers. She had volunteered at the Pittsfield Girls' Club and at polling places during local elections.
Besides her daughter, she leaves three other daughters, Marilyn Trienfenbach of Illinois, and Arleen Carpenter and Lois Woitkowski, both of North Carolina; a son, William O'Donnell of North Carolina; a brother, Louis VanBramer of Florida, and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral will be tomorrow, March 27, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 at St. Francis Xavier Church by the Rev. Paul A. Bombardier, pastor. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Lanesboro, in the spring. Calling hours at the funeral home will be today, Tuesday, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. O'Donnell may be made to Elmhurst Memorial Hospice, 855 North Church Court, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
