Louis M. Love

Louis M. Love, 86, of 140 Robbins Ave., formerly of 13 Kent Ave., died yesterday at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Care Facility.
Born in Great Barrington on April 26, 1915, son of Martin and Mary Spaulding Love, he attended Stockbridge schools. He moved to Pittsfield in the 1950s.
Mr. Love was employed in the paper mill industry until the 1960s, when ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed his dogs and rabbits. He also took great joy in repairing bicycles and donating them to area children.
His wife, the former Helena Kot, whom he married Dec. 2, 1944, in Stockbridge, died Feb. 29, 1996.
He leaves three sons, Walter Fountain of Martin, Ga., William Fountain of Key Largo, Fla., and Lawrence Love of Peru; five daughters, Marion Williams of Madisonville, La., and Elaine Daniels, Irene Williams, Patricia Love and Mary O'Bert, all of Pittsfield; two brothers, Myron Love of Anaheim, Calif., and Lawrence Love of Lanesboro; 19 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, which is handling arrangements.
