John F. Rose

John F. Rose, 72, of Lake City, Fla., former resident of Pittsfield, died Tuesday at Lake City Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on April 15, 1929, son of John G. and Elizabeth Franklin Rose, he attended local schools. He was a graduate of the business administration program at Bryant College.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was employed as a manager at Pyrofax Gas Co. for many years and retired in 1995. He had lived in Central Square, N.Y., for many years before moving to Lake City three years ago.
Mr. Rose was a member of a blue lodge of AF & AM and of the Cyprus Temple of Shriners in Albany, N.Y., where he volunteered with the clown unit. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and reading.
He leaves two sons, John C. Rose of Dover, Pa., and Scott P. Rose of Glenmont, N.Y..; two daughters, Cheryl Rymar of Rotterdam Junction, N.Y., and Pamela Obremski of Randolph, N.J., and nine grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Friends are asked to meet inside the cemetery gates at 10:45. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Shriners Hospital, c/o the WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
