Agnes Stanislaus Plotczyk, 88, of 59 Churchill Crest died Monday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for the past four days.
Born in Webster on Jan. 15, 1914, daughter of Andrew and Frances Teclaw Plotczyk, she graduated from Northfield schools. She moved to Pittsfield in the 1930s.
She served in the Navy Waves during World War II.
She was the owner-operator of Miss Agnes Fashions in Pittsfield for many years. She retired in 1974.
Miss Plotczyk was a communicant of St. Mark's Church.
She leaves two sisters, Mary R. Bohannon of Cleveland and Janet P. Urgielewicz of Northfield, and a brother, Valentine P. Plotczyk of Sebring, Fla., and is also survived by her former business partner and longtime family friend, Wayne H. Carley of Pittsfield, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Francis Plotczyk, John Plotczyk and Raymond Plotczyk, and an uncle, the Rev. Valentine Teclaw, who served as pastor of Holy Family Church many years ago.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. William Eckert, parochial vicar of St. Mark's Church, officiating. There are no calling hours. A burial service will be Friday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, Northfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
