Ward Calebaugh

Ward S. Calebaugh, 91, of 53 Elmer Ave. died Wednesday evening at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox.
Born in Antioch, Ohio, on March 16, 1910, son of David and Rachel Bonar Calebaugh, he was a 1928 graduate of Antioch High School. He moved to Pittsfield in 1942 and completed the GE apprentice course.
Mr. Calebaugh was employed by GE for 43 years as a toolmaker and, later, as a supervisor. He retired in 1975.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in Dalton, Crescent Masonic Lodge, and GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycling, four-wheeling and dancing.
His first wife, the former Marie Roderiguez,is deceased.
He leaves his former wife, M. Patricia O'Brien Cairns of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sons, Robert and David Calebaugh, both of Pittsfield; three daughters, Carol Skole of Turners Falls, Elaine Grandboise of Myrtle Beach and Janice Darby of Peru; two brothers, George Calebaugh of Dalton and Clark Calebaugh of Media, Pa.; a sister, Ethel Brown of Sistersville, W. Va.; 16 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
Following cremation, there will be a memorial service Wednesday at 5:30 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Mary F. Schreiber, missioner at Grace Episcopal Church, officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:30 to 5:30. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
