Sherry Phillips Quick Russell, 53, of 215 Crescent Circle, Cheshire, Conn., formerly of Dalton, died Sunday at home.
Born in Charlotte, N.C., on May 9, 1948, daughter of Vanda Phillips Reeb of Pittsfield and the late Walter Quick, she was a 1966 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
She also graduated from Southern Connecticut State College in 1970 with a bachelor of science degree in art education. She resided in Dalton for 25 years before moving to Connecticut 25 years ago.
At the time of her death, Ms. Russell was employed as a customer service representative with the Chubb Group of Insurance Cos. in New Haven, Conn., where she had worked for 25 years. She previously taught art in the Southern Berkshire Regional School District for three years.
She was a member of the Dalton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed theater and art, yoga, aerobics, running and skiing.
Besides her mother, she leaves her stepfather, Charles W. Reeb of Pittsfield; a brother, David S. Quick of Kingwood, Texas, and her companion, Tony Palmero of Cheshire, Conn., and her best friend, "Zachary."
A memorial service for Ms. Russell will be held Friday, March 15, at 1 p.m. at Dalton United Methodist Church, with the Rev. John R. Smith, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ms. Russell may be made to the Dalton United Methodist Church in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton 01226, or to Connecticut Hospice Inc., 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
