Madeline Dillon

Madeline M. Dillon, 94, of 320 Pittsfield Road died Sunday evening at Providence Care Center of Lenox, where she had resided for 2 1/2 years.

Born on May 31, 1907 in Pittsfield, daughter of David and Hermione Boudreau Discoe, she attended local schools.

Mrs. Dillon was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality.

She was also a member of the Pittsfield Women's Club and a Girl Scout leader for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge.

Her husband, Robert B. Dillon, former Pittsfield mayor and postmaster, died April 23, 1981. They were married Aug. 6, 1928, in Notre Dame Church,

She leaves three sons, Robert B. Dillon Jr., Daniel C. Dillon and Thomas A. Dillon, all of Pittsfield; two daughters, Betty Ann Powell of Lake Worth, Fla., and Connie M. Yannone of Pittsfield; a brother, Willard Discoe of Montrose, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

The funeral will be Thursday, March 14, at 9:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in Notre Dame Church by the Rev. Paul Bombardier. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, March 13, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Resident Fund at Providence Care Center in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
