Dorothy S. Lepisto, 88, formerly of 39 Dan Ave., died yesterday at Craneville Place in Dalton, where she had resided since 1991.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 24, 1913, daughter of Lloyd A. Stokes Sr. and Maud Andrews Stokes, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
From the mid-1960s until 1975, she was employed as a secretary at Berkshire Life Insurance Co. Before her marriage, she was employed by GE.
Mrs. Lepisto was a member of the former Trinity Methodist Church in Pittsfield, where she served as secretary. She was also a member of Order of Eastern Star Collina Chapter 69 and a member and past secretary of the Pearl K. McGowan Rughookcrafters of America. She enjoyed knitting and rug hooking.
Her husband, Karl O. Lepisto, whom she married July 13, 1941, died Oct. 14, 1990.
She leaves a son, Bruce Lepisto of Falls Church, Va., and two brothers, Lloyd A. Stokes Jr. of Sun City Center, Fla., and William Russell Stokes of Pittsfield.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
