Annie Louise Wheeler, 94, formerly of Pine Grove Manor, died Monday at Craneville Place of Dalton, where she had resided since July 1996.
Born in Mill End, Herts, England, on March 31, 1907, daughter of Hugh W.G. and Isabella Southall Goodair, she attended schools there. She came to the United States in 1927 for 14 months before returning to England.
Mrs. Wheeler returned to the United States in 1950 and worked as a housekeeper for the family of Dr. Warfield T. Longcope at Cornhill Farm in Lee until 1979, when she moved to Dalton.
Her husband, Percy Roy Wheeler, whom she married Nov. 14, 1931, died Nov. 16, 1996.
She leaves a daughter, Suzanne W. Kittle of Pittsfield; a son, Ronald G. Wheeler of St. Petersburg, Fla.; six grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends Sunday, March 10, at the home of her daughter, Suzanne W. Kittle, 290 Dalton Division Road, Pittsfield, from 2 to 5. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations in her memory be made to Craneville Place of Dalton in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, which is handling arrangements.
