John T. Novo

John Thomas Novo, 75, formerly of Turnure Terrace, died Thursday at the Center for Optimum Care in Pittsfield, where he had resided for the past four years.
Born in Lenox on Sept. 11, 1926, son of John V. and Margaret Gibbons Novo, he was a graduate of Lenox Memorial High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Norwich University.
He was employed as an engineer with GE and retired in May 1997. He owned and operated John's Lakeside Marina on Pontoosuc Lake in Pittsfield. He also owned and operated a civil engineering and landscaping business.
Mr. Novo served as a former building inspector for the town of Lenox. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2568 in Lenox. He enjoyed spending time outdoors.
His first wife, the former Patricia Feeley, died Dec. 26, 1956.
His second wife, Jean E. Albertazzi, died November 1990.
He leaves three sons, Jeffrey M. Novo of Latham, N.Y., Mark Novo of Pittsfield and John J. Novo of Worthington, and two grandchildren. He also leaves his longtime companion, Isabelle Gilligan of Lenox.
Calling hours for Mr. Novo will be Thursday, March 7, from 4 to 7 at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. A private graveside service will be held in St. Ann's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the Dery Funeral Home.
