Agnes R. Mansen

Agnes Rose Mansen, 85, of 151 Jones Ave. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Swansboro, N.C., on Feb. 10, 1917, daughter of William J. and Mary Sewell Cashman, she was educated there and in Pittsfield schools. She was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.

Primarily a homemaker, she was employed as a nursing assistant at the former St. Luke's Hospital and at BMC. She was also a home health aide for UpJohn Health Services.

Mrs. Mansen was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Her husband, Oley Mansen, died April 7, 1971.

She leaves two sons, Charles J. Mansen of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and David O. Mansen of Pittsfield; five daughters, Carole M. Seluke of Deep River, Conn., Judith T. Miers of Dalton, Kathleen A. Mansen of Pittsfield, Diane F. Arthur of Apalachin, N.Y., and Denise L. Kossyvakis of Woodbine, N.J.; 23 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. A son, John E. Mansen of Pittsfield, died Feb. 11, 1982.

Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 26, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mark's Church celebrated by the Rev. Henry R. Dorsch, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Mrs. Mansen enjoyed the loyal companionship of her beloved dog "Suzie." In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
