Mary K. Lynch, 81, of 5 Dodge Ave. died Tuesday at home.
Born in Tinnvier Attanah, County Laoise, Ireland, on March 8, 1920, daughter of John M. and Katherine Coffey Lynch, she attended local schools and was a 1938 graduate of St. Joseph's High School. She also graduated from Berkshire Business College.
Mrs. Lynch was employed as a secretary for the federal government in Washington, D.C., Boston and New York City. She then returned to Pittsfield to work for the U.S. Navy Ordinance Department of GE, retiring in 1971 after 32 years of service. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
She leaves a brother, Joseph F. Lynch of Pittsfield, and a sister, Elizabeth A. Lynch of Pittsfield, with whom she made her home.
Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 22, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. If friends desire, donations may be made to Hospice Care in the Berkshires or the Berkshire Humane Society, in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory. There will be no calling hours. DWYER FUNERAL HOME is handling arranagements.
