Judith A. Carty, 61, of 56 Marian Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on March 9, 1940, daughter of John P. and Katherin Rowan Leahy, she was a 1958 graduate of St. Joseph High School and a 1960 graduate of Becker Junior College in Worcester.
A homemaker, she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the Better Breathers Club.
She leaves her husband, Edward J. Carty, whom she married May 18, 1963, in St. Charles' Church; three sons, Patrick J. Carty of Springfield, Daniel E. Carty of Sudbury and Michael D. Carty of Boston; a daughter, Erin K. Carty of Marston Mills, and a grandson. Mrs. Carty was predeceased by a brother, John R. Leahy.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 23, at 8:15 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, Friday, Feb. 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Better Breathers Club in care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in her memory.
