Harold Perkins Jr.

Harold F. "Red" Perkins Jr., 62, of 161 Jones Ave. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on May 30, 1939, son of the late Harold Perkins Sr. and Anna Shepard Perkins, he attended local schools.
Mr. Perkins had worked on the railroad for several years before becoming a laborer with the Local 473 Laborers' Union, retiring in January after 20 years.
A sportsman and outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and all types of sports. He was a member of the Berkshire Beagle Club, the Lenox Sportsman's Club, the Pittsfield Sportsman's Club and the Italian-American Club.
He leaves his wife, the former Henrietta F. Houghtlin, whom he married Aug. 15, 1988; three sons, John A. McNulty of Becket, Steven A. McNulty of Ashley Falls and Kevin J. Perkins of Pittsfield; a daughter, Joanne M. McNulty of Adams, and eight grandchildren. His sister, Kathleen Scott, died Jan. 25, 1990.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Mark's Church. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Renal Dialysis Unit at BMC in care of the funeral home.
