Gerhart Peters

Gerhart Peters, 61, of 111 Robin Lane, Wildwood, Fla., formerly of Pittsfield, died Thursday at Leesburg Memorial Regional Hospital in Leesburg, Fla.
Born in Manhattan, N.Y., on March 2, 1940, son of Hans and Ann Sharader Peters, he attended schools there and moved to Pittsfield in 1965. He moved to Wildwood in October 2000.
Mr. Peters was employed as a technician at GE Plastics Business Group, retiring in 2000 after 35 years of service.
He was an Army veteran and was stationed in Germany.
He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the 18th Hole Golf Club.
He leaves his wife, the former Karen A. Scully, whom he married July 9, 1982; a son, John Peters of North Adams; six daughters, Debbie Rennie of Wamego, Kan., Ellen LaDouceur and Lisa L'Italien, both of Pittsfield, Patricia Peters of Adams, Donna Peters of Bennington, Vt., and Candy Dimanche of Ocklawaha, Fla.; a brother, Ernest Peters of Wildwood; 21 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday afternoon at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME beginning at 4 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Renal Dialysis Unit at Berkshire Medical Center in care of the funeral home.
