Catherine McKeon

Catherine M. McKeon, 81, of 2006 East St. died Sunday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 21, 1920, daughter of Dominick and Barbara Parise Furciniti, she attended local schools, including Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. McKeon was employed as a secretary/receptionist for Dr. Albert R. Conway and the late Dr. Donald E. Fairbanks until her retirement in 1980.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and had volunteered from 1954 until 1986 at the Pittsfield Girls' Club, where she was involved with Tiny Tots. She taught swimming in the Pittsfield school system and at the Boys' and Girls' Club for years, and was also involved with the Boys and Girl Scouts.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Joseph J. McKeon, whom she married Sept. 22, 1947; a son, Charles H. Corl Jr. of Pittsfield; five daughters, Barbara Giusti of Windsor, Patricia Smith of Maine, Andrea Gaylord and Jo-Ann Duda, both of Pittsfield, and Linda Marshall of North Potomac, Md.; a brother, Anthony Furciniti of Pittsfield; her twin sister, Mary Cornock of Pittsfield; 14 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. Her brother, Joseph Furciniti, died Jan. 24, 2001.
There will be no calling hours. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, with the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor, officiating. Following cremation, burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, which is handling arrangements.
