Nancy Jane Moore

Nancy Jane Moore, 77, of 26 Hazelwood Terrace died Monday at home.
Born in Burlington, Vt., on July 3, 1924, daughter of Fred W. and Marion R. Besett Ruble, she graduated from Washington Irving High School in New York City in 1941. She moved to Pittsfield in 1952.
Mrs. Moore was employed by Western Union Telegraph Co. for many years and, later, at the Naval Plant Representative Office in the communications department for more than 20 years. She retired in 1986.
She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Berkshire Family History Association. She was a former member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants.
Her first husband, Sgt. Arthur Grefe, whom she married in January 1943, died in 1944, in France during World War II.
Her husband, Stanley E. Moore, whom she married Sept. 29, 1945, in Burlington, died in 1989.
She leaves two sons, James A. Moore of Pittsfield and Christopher A. Moore of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Arthur F. Moore and Dennis S. Moore.
Funeral services will be held in Lakeview Cemetery, Burlington, Vt., at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Salvation Army or the American Heart Association in Mrs. Moore's memory in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.
