Emilia G. Boino, 94, of 20 Silver St. died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Yvonne DeSanty of 10 Adams St., North Adams.
Born in Arcozelo, Portugal, on March 10, 1907, daughter of Joaquim and Maria Gomes Izidro, she attended schools there and came to the United States in 1929.
She was employed by former Pajama Factory and then became employed Campus Girls for several years. She also was employed by the former England Brothers for 15 years, retiring in 1973.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and her family.
Her husband, Thomas A. Boino, whom she married April 20, 1927, in Portugal, died Jan. 9, 1960.
Besides her daughter, she leaves two sons, Jack A. Boino of Dalton and Daniel J. Boino Sr. of Pittsfield; a brother, Antonio Izidro of Portugal; 16 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Friday, Feb. 8, at 8 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME will be Thursday, Feb. 7, from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Shriners Hospital in care of the funeral home.
