Lillian M. Evans, 92, of Craneville Place of Dalton, formerly of Rose Manor, died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center. She had resided in Dalton for two years.
Born in Bay St. Paul, Quebec, on Jan. 5, 1910, daughter of Achilles and Dianna Pradet Gagne, she moved to Pittsfield as an infant and attended local schools.
Mrs. Evans was employed as a winder at A.H. Rice Co. for 20 years and later as a clerk at the former Berkshire Hills Shop for 20 years, retiring at the age of 62.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing bingo and traveling.
Her husband, Elmer G. Evans, whom she married April 22, 1929, died July 4, 1969.
She leaves two daughters, Marjorie A. Ano of Dalton and Joan M. Giardina of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday, Jan. 28, at 10 at Notre Dame Church, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Earl A. Hebert, pastor. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Evans may be made to Notre Dame Church in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
