William S. Knight

William S. Knight, 88, of St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Sheffield Street, died Dec. 27, 2001, at home.
Born in Great Barrington on Dec. 5, 1913, son of Clark H. and Estella Drum Knight, he attended Stockbridge schools. He moved to St. Augustine 25 years ago.
Mr. Knight worked with his father in Knight's Garage on Lebanon Avenue and was employed in the Navy Yards in Charleston; Bath, Maine; and Long Beach, Calif., during World War II.
After returning to Pittsfield, he was a boiler tender at Elmvale Worsted Mill, Western Mass. Electric Co. at Silver Lake Station and Williams College.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and touring.
He and his wife, the former Mildred Chittenden, were married Sept. 29, 1933.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sisters, Arbutus L. Horner of Ocala, Fla., Edith M. Dolan of Queensbury, N.Y., Lucille E. Packard of Agawam, and two brothers, George D. Knight of Pittsfield and Richard D. Knight of Richmond.
