Viola E. Gore, 81, of Cherry Street died Tuesday at home.
Born in Estelline, South Dakota, on July 10, 1920, daughter of Matthew and Ida Josephine Kangas Seppanen, she attended schools there.
She enjoyed gardening, traveling and her family.
She leaves her husband of 56 years, Elwood Gore, whom she married Jan. 15, 1946, in Minneapolis; five daughters, Marilyn V. Pyle of Wichita, Kan., Sheila M. Gore of Costa Mesa, Calif., Toini Y. Florin of Virginia Beach, Va., Joan F.I. Gore of Lenox and Holly D. McGowen of Ballston Spa, N.Y.; three sons, Gene E.W. Gore of West Palm Beach, Fla., Bruce M. Gore of Great Barrington and Bradford W. Gore of Catskill, N.Y.; a sister, Minnie Isaacson; six brothers, Maurice, Martin, Williard, Elwood and Stewart Seppanen, all of South Dakota, and Edwin Seppanen of Newark, Del.; 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gore was predeceased by a sister, Mildred Kandoll, and a brother, Melvin Seppanen.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, friends are requested to make a donation to the Lenox Ambulance Squad in care of ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. Burial service will be private at the request of the family.
