Lillian M. Talbot

Lillian M. Talbot, 88, of 1000 North St., formerly of 43 Cummings Ave., died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Binghamton, N.Y., on April 22, 1913, daughter of Homer and Florence Pond Gray, she attended schools there. In the 1920s and 30s, she moved to Middlefield, where she lived and was raised by William and Laura Sweeney. She moved to Lee in 1932 and to Pittsfield in 1935. She had resided at the Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility for the past four years.

Mrs. Talbot was employed as a housekeeper with Donald Oakes, who was headmaster at Miss Hall's School, in the mid-1960s.

Her husband, Theodore E. Talbot Sr., whom she married Sept. 10, 1932, died in 1966.

She leaves a son, Homer A. Talbot of Pine Mountain Valley, Ga.; four daughters, Doris M. Pasquarelli and Laura N. Poplaski, both of Pittsfield, Gladys A. Steele of Peru and Florence S. Poplaski of Dalton; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Theodore E. Talbot Jr., who died in 1993.

The funeral will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee with the Rev. Robert L. Withers, pastor of First Congregational Church in Becket, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home Friday morning from 10 until the time of the funeral.
