Edith Leavenworth

Edith I. Leavenworth, 97, of 32 McAllister St. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Riders Mill, N.Y., on June 10, 1904, daughter of John and Mame Holbert Holt, she attended local schools.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1928 and worked as a spinner at the Berkshire Woolen Mill for 20 years, retiring in 1958.
Mrs. Leavenworth was a member of Pilgrim Memorial Church.
Her husband, Harold Leavenworth, died in 1970.
She leaves a son, Richard E. Leavenworth of Zephyrhills, Fla.; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Leavenworth was predeceased by a sister, Edith Barnes.
Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 25, at 10:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a service at 11 at Pilgrim Memorial Church, celebrated by the Rev. Cory Loder. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours at Dwyer Funeral Home are Thursday, Jan. 24, from 4 to 7. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Pilgrim Memorial Church in care of Dwyer Funeral Home.
