Louise A. Roche

Louise A. Roche, 83, formerly of 600 Main St., died Sunday at Craneville Place of Dalton, where she had resided since 1998.
Born in Smithburg, Md., on Feb. 10, 1918, daughter of John E. and Blanche Wallach Stotler, she attended schools there. She moved to Dalton in 1947 from Washington, D.C.
Mrs. Roche was employed as a clerk at the former Newberry's, England Brothers and Zayre department stores, and at Grand Union supermarket. She also worked at Dunkin' Donuts in Pittsfield and at Newberry's in Washington, D.C. During World War II, she assisted physicians in the Civilian Conservation Corps camps.
Her husband, Lawrence S. Roche, died Dec. 17, 1993.
She leaves two daughters, Kathleen A. Zaks of Lanesboro and Dorothy J. Roche of Dalton; two sons, Lawrence P. Roche of Reno, Nev., and Raymond "Mike" Roche of Dalton; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held in Ashuelot Cemetery in Dalton. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dalton Ambulance Fund in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 Main St., Dalton, which is in charge of arrangements.
