Bondi J. Comalli

Bondi John Comalli, 88, of 119 Danforth Ave. died Wednesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Lee on March 1, 1913, son of Elio and Rosa Assunta Ebioni Comalli, he attended schools there and was a 1932 graduate of Lee High School, where he played football. He moved to Pittsfield in 1958.
Mr. Comalli was employed as an accountant for Lee Lime Corp. for more than 50 years, retiring in 1984.
A communicant of Holy Family Church, he was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge and of the Knights of Columbus, both in Lee.
He was a member and past secretary of the Lee Men's Bowling League and won numerous bowling tournaments. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.
His first wife, the former Mary Marran, whom he married in 1934, died in 1957.
He and his wife, the former Stella T. Lingoski Hoctor, were married July 26, 1958.
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, John Comalli of San Diego, Thomas Comalli of Citrus Heights, Calif., James Comalli of Pasadena, Md.; two stepsons, James A. Hoctor Jr. of Mahomet, Ill., and Richard Hoctor of Lee; two daughters, Jane Carmel of Pittsfield and Joanne Marran of Hinsdale; 23 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a stepson, Timothy D. Hoctor Sr., and a stepdaughter, Sylvia J. Hoctor Mitchell.
The funeral will be Monday at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at Holy Family Church by the Rev. Eugene Suszek, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 3 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
