Joan A. Munger

Joan Agnes Munger, 68, of 170 Windsor Ave. died Friday at Hillcrest Commons, where she had been a patient for the past four years.
Born in Pittsfield on April 22, 1933, daughter of William J. and Anne M. Hall Gero, she was a 1951 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School and attended Berkshire Business College.
Mrs. Munger was employed as a clerk with the Department of Public Welfare for 31 years. She retired in 1990.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and enjoyed geneology.
She and her husband, Clifford F. Munger, were married Sept. 6, 1955.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Timothy T. Munger of Dunstable; two daughters, Kathleen A. Tomasi of Dalton and Joanne M. Munger of Crescent City, Fla.; three brothers, Thomas H. Gero of Pittsfield, John Gero of Pownal, Vt., and Lawrence Gero of Worcester; a sister, Teresa A. Delphia of Pittsfield, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Munger will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at 8:15 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, celebrated by Rev. Paul A. Bombardier, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Munger may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to St. Mary's Church, both in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield 01201.
