Ingeborg R. Browne, 86, of 20 Breit Drive, Salisbury Estates, died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Germany on March 13, 1915, daughter of Ewald A. and Hedwig A. Trauschke Adler, she came to the United States and Pittsfield in 1927. She graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1935. She moved to Long Island in 1946 and returned to Pittsfield in 1995.
She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed cooking, knitting and reading.
Her husband, Robert A. Browne Sr., whom she married May 21, 1939, died in 1986.
She leaves a son, Robert A. Browne Jr. of Pittsfield, with whom she lived, and two brothers, Ronald E. Adler and Horst T. Adler, both of Pittsfield.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11 a.m. in WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, with the Rev. Peter D. Boehringer officiating. Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
