Charles L. Renaud

Charles Lawrence Renaud, 81, of 18 Claremont Road died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 1, 1920, son of Arthur and Laura Cote Renaud, he was a 1938 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He also graduated from the apprentice program at GE Plastics.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Renaud was employed as a tool engineer at GE in the Ordnance Systems Division, retiring in 1985 after 45 years of service.
He was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs. At one time, he enjoyed skiing and golf. He also enjoyed spending time with his two granddaughters.
He leaves his wife, the former Dolores Cavanaugh, whom he married June 24, 1961; two sons, Mark L. Renaud of Haverhill and Paul R. Renaud of Lakeville; a brother, Ernest Renaud of North East, Pa., and two granddaughters, Meaghan Renaud and Olivia Renaud.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 11, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, Dalton, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Agnes' Church, celebrated by the Rev. John A. Koonz, pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours for Mr. Renaud will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Renaud's memory may be made to St. Agnes' School in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
