Constantino Rosingana

Constantino Rosingana, 92, of 130 Benedict Road died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Pittsfield on May 15, 1909, son of Rodolfo and Virginia Borgo Rosingana, he returned to Italy as an infant and attended schools there. He returned to the United States in 1927.

He was a World War II Army veteran and was assigned to Field Artillery Training Center at Fort Sill, Okla.

Mr. Rosingana was first employed as a chef at the former Wendell Hotel, at the Bermudan Hotel in Bermuda, and at Poland Springs, Maine, and Augusta, Ga. He later was employed by General Electric Co. in the former power transformer department for 30 years, retiring as a welder in 1971.

He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners clubs. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and wine making.

He leaves his wife, the former Anna S. Borsello, whom he married in 1933; a son, Aldo Rosingana of Westfield; a sister, Yolanda Origlia of Torino, Italy, and two grandchildren. Predeceased by a brother, Giovanni Rosingana.

Funeral services will take place Thursday, Jan. 10, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. John H. Ford CSS. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME will be Thursday morning, Jan. 10, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mount Carmel Church Centennial Fund in care of the funeral home.
