Anthony Salzarulo

Anthony Louis Salzarulo Jr., 72, of Simi, Calif., formerly of Pittsfield, died Dec. 26 at Northridge Hospital in Reseda, Calif., after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 19, 1929, son of Anthony and Katherine Puia Salzarulo, he attended Pittsfield High School and American Mitebell School of Design in New York, and graduated from the former Berkshire Business College. He also attended various music schools and was a member of the first class in eurythmics and theory at Pittsfield Com-munity Music School.
Mr. Salzarulo played the organ and piano with area bands and gave lessons in both instruments. He was employed by the former Sammy Vincent's Allendale Shopping Center store as a salesman-instructor for a year before opening a studio for sales and instruction in the Conn organ on Fourth Street. He was also an organist at the former Broyles Roller Skating Rink.
He moved to California in 1970 and worked for music stores as a bookkeeper and selling and demonstrating organs.
He leaves a son, Marc Salzarulo of Val Verde, Calif.; a daughter, Dona Lee Salzarulo of Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Ralph Sal-zarulo of El Cajon, Calif., and Richard Salzarulo of Ponte Vedro, Fla.; two sisters, Rose Senger and Josephine May, both of Pittsfield, and three grandsons. He was predeceased by four brothers, Jerry, Joe, Tim and Larry.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Polio Survivors Foundation, 18700 Sherman No. 104, Reseda, CA 91335 or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, 369 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
