Shirley Grandbois

Shirley E. Clancy Grandbois, 80, of 221 Barker Road died Sunday at Springside of Pittsfield.

Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 12, 1921, daughter of William G. and Ethel M. Bissell Keyes, she was a 1939 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1942 graduate of the former Bishop Memorial School of Nursing.

Mrs. Grandbois was employed as a registered nurse and supervisor of the men's ward at the former Pittsfield General Hospital, now Berkshire Medical Center, until 1959. From 1959 to 1984, she joined her husband in the operation of Liberty Court Motel.

She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and of Immaculate Conception Church in New Lebanon, N.Y.

Her first husband, John P. Clancy, whom she married Sept. 7, 1946, died Nov. 17, 1954.

She leaves her husband, Lucien J. Grandbois, whom she married Nov. 28, 1959; a daughter, Sharon Condron of New Lebanon; a sister, Jain Main of Pittsfield, and two brothers, Eugene Keyes and William Keyes, both of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by a brother, John Keyes, who died May 14, 1980.

The funeral will be tomorrow, Jan. 9, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mark's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Grandbois may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Western Massachusetts in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, 01201.
